Course Offerings:

Immunization / Resiliency

Before and During Deployment: These techniques are mental hygiene tools that produce ongoing protection by increasing focus, clarity, and mental resilience, especially during long deployments. Warriors are trained to find the calm center in the “eye of the hurricane” and to eliminate the “fog of war” by emphasizing power, balance, and clarity. In the immunization stage, Warrior Mind Training techniques are designed for the Service Member who is interested in discovering how to strengthen and develop his mind to reach his full potential as a warrior. If practiced regularly and diligently, these techniques will allow the warrior to gain a superior level of control over his own mind and life. This training will allow him to recharge himself when he is exhausted on the battlefield; to make more intelligent use of his body’s own natural talents and energies; and to strengthen his focus, willpower and intent to exceed the demands of his mission. We teach the warrior how to focus to the point at which he can clear his mind of all distractions and shut off all mental chatter at will. When that happens, a power and clarity will infuse his attention, which he can then direct towards attaining almost anything. Our motto is: What you focus on, you will become.

Decompression

Returning from Deployment: Decompression techniques, designed by Veterans for Veterans, enable an effective reintegration back into family and civilian life upon returning CONUS. Warrior Mind Training techniques ease the stresses of a changing daily reality and act as safety stops during that critical re-entry period. The mission: Take the war to the enemy, but leave the battle on the battlefield™. By combining ancient mind focusing techniques with the healing properties of music, warriors can learn to re-strengthen and re-forge their minds.

PTSD, TBI and Combat Operational Stress Training

Due to the alarming increase in the number of cases of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and suicide or attempted suicide in our returning Veterans population, we have developed specialized WMT classes for combat-related decompression. In these classes, techniques are taught that allow warriors to reintegrate with self, family and society; to leave the battle on the battlefield; and to earn the peace for which they have so honorably paid the price.

We are currently providing this training to the Warrior Transition Battalion of Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune at MCB Camp Lejeune. Warrior Mind Training is an intervention technique in NHCL's "Back on Track" program for returning warriors diagnosed with PTSD and Combat Operational Stress; in the mTBI/Concussion Skills Workshop; and in the Outpatient Crisis Prevention Program.

Elite Warrior Training

Using Warrior Mind Training techniques, elite warriors in the US military can learn how to strengthen and forge their minds into the ultimate fighting weapon. In addition to the weekly Resiliency classes at NAB Coronado/North Island, CA, WMT training also includes a "Hell Week Prep" class for Navy SEALs BUD/S classes just prior to entering the intensive Hell Week phase of their qualification. In this class, Navy SEALs candidates are instructed in WMT techniques and are taught the secret to surviving Hell Week.

During the 2008 Marine Special Operations School (MSOS) Instructor Development Course, Warrior Mind Training was introduced into the core curriculum for MARSOC Special Operations candidate training at MCB Camp Lejeune, NC. This customized course emphasized the tradition of mind training in elite warrior cultures throughout history, as well as intermediate mind training techniques designed for elite warrior development.

Weekly Resiliency and Battleproofing classes are also provided to Fort Bragg's fighting elite, including members of the Special Forces, Psychological Operations, and Soldiers undergoing the rigors of the Special Forces Qualification Course (Q-Course).

WMT Web Classes

Warrior Mind Training launched weekly, live web-based classes in spring 2009. This 4-week series of online WMT "Basic Training" classes covers the WMT Deep Listening technique and the WMT Battleproofing Toolkit™. It is designed for service members in remote locations, such as National Guard and Reserve warriors or deployed service members overseas, who cannot attend on-site classes in person. We run the 4-week series each month.

Stress & Anger Management Training

Warrior Mind Training provides Stress & Anger Management training at Naval Submarine Base New London/Groton in conjunction with The Fleet & Family Support Center’s Stress, Anger and Communications Skills classes. In these classes, techniques are taught that create a “mental pause” during which a person can choose to make better decisions about whether or not to engage in a negative or violent action, thereby breaking the cycle of habitual reaction-response to form new and healthier patterns, free from anger.

Train-the-Trainer Certification Course

For those that meet the prerequisite qualifications, we provide a Train-the-Trainer program in order to fulfill the high demand for class availability. Currently there are over 30 certified WMT Basic Trainers, Level I at MCB Camp Pendleton, CA. We offer an escalation procedure such that if a new trainer should not know the answer to a particular question, he or she can contact our core team of senior instructors. Monthly and/or quarterly refresher classes can be provided to keep new trainers up-to-speed with the latest course developments and provide ongoing instructor training.

Spouses & Adult Family Members

Upon request, we work with Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR), Family Readiness Groups (FRG), and the Army and Marine Corps Community Services (ACCS, MCCS) to participate in special events and training opportunities designed specifically for military spouses and adult-aged family members and friends. Since many of the states of mind associated with PTSD and Combat Operational Stress can be "contagious," we will provide mind training instruction to this special community that supports our troops from inside the family home.
